Ted Seitz, viola
In addition to his duties with Symphony Silicon Valley, Ted Seitz is Assistant Principal Viola with Opera San Josť and plays in the San Jose Chamber Orchestra and American Musical Theatre Orchestra of San Jose. As an active free-lance player in the Bay Area, he has performed with the Oakland, Modesto, Santa Rosa, and Santa Cruz Symphonies. In the summers, he serves as assistant principal Violist in the Mendocino Festival Orchestra. He has performed with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Spoleto, Italy, and in the San Francisco Concert Orchestra.
As an active private teacher in the Hayward/Castro Valley area, he teaches Beginning and Intermediate Strings at the Fremont Youth Symphony, and has served as viola and chamber music coach with the San Jose Symphony Youth Orchestra. Through Quality Musical Services, he provides chamber music for weddings and special events.
Mr. Seitz studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Daniel Kobialka, John Adams and Paul Hersh, and at the Aspen Music School and Idlewild School for the Arts.
Mr. Seitz was born in Brooklyn, New York.
